King Living Balgowlah Flagship Showroom
The architectural vision, executed by Reitsma Constructions and Centric Architects, demanded meticulous attention to detail from the certification team, especially concerning the Building Code of Australia (BCA) for a Class 6 (Retail) building of this scale. The structure boasts high-end, durable finishes including Precast Concrete Walls and Cemintel Barestone cladding, contrasted by expansive glass shopfronts and fixed aluminium louvres with a timber-look finish. A major element of the certification involved verifying compliance for the sustainable commercial building features, notably a comprehensive Solar Photovoltaic (PV) system designed to generate approximately 90% of the building's energy and achieve a near carbon-neutral operating status. PCA's proactive engagement was crucial in certifying this complex system's integration with the metal roofing, along with certifying the two-storey internal atrium and the building's overall accessibility and fire egress, all while maintaining the aggressive construction timeline.
